Shatsk lakes are located in Volyn region, that is situated on the north-western part of Ukraine at a height of 270 m above sea level. It is borders on Poland and Belarus. Shatsk Lake complex is one of 15th national nature reserves in Ukraine. Shatsk lakes is a system of more than 30 lakes. Some experts believe that scuba diving into the Shatsk lakes is no worse than into the Sea of Marmara.
The biggest one and the most interesting and exciting is the Svitiaz Lake with its crystal clear water (visibility up to 8 meters) depth of 58.4 m and a rich wildlife. Lake Svitiaz is very flat. It creates an ideal environment for family holidays (especially for families with children). For those who like swimming it is a great opportunity to walk through perfectly clean sand, that lies on approximately 100 m and more until the depth reaches 1.5 m. Then the bottom goes down and here starts diving. On small depths ranging from 3 meters you will find bass, pike, and the local value - eels. If you`ll plunge deeper, keeping silence, than you can see sleeping sheat-fish.
