Relief of the Shatsk National Park is mostly flat. The park is located in the Polesie lowland (140-150 m).

Flora has over 800 species of plants, where Asteraceae, grass and sedge dominated. 28 different plant species and 33 animal species found in the reserve, are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. There are more than 12.000 birds at the territory of the Park during spring-autumn migrations, 27 of them are represented in the Red Book of Ukraine.

In Shatsk National Park you can meet elk, wild boar, roe deer, fox, hare, black storks, owls, gray crane. Also, there are a lot of lizards, snakes, newts, frogs. Unfortunately, nowadays it is less possible to see the otter, badger, ermine. There is a rich and diverse fauna of aquatic inhabitants. Among them: roach, perch, pike, carp, Canadian brown bullhead. There are a lot of eels here.

In a season visitors can enjoy quiet hunting and gather mushrooms such as: boletus, chanterelles, orange cap boletus, brown cap boletus. Here you can taste delicious wild berries from Polesie - blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, raspberries.
