Almost the whole lake`s coastline covered with forests. In summer you can inhale the air filled with aroma of pine needles, gather blueberries, blackberries and mushrooms. Such satisfaction has no one who used to spend vacations at the seaside. From the first sight Svitiaz has something common with sea. It has a length of 9.3 and width 4.8 kilometers. Square of the Svitiaz Lake 2750 hectares. Maximum depth 58.4 m and the average 6,9 meters. In windy weather the waves reach 1,5 m height.    

Shatsk lakes are not so small. The average maximum depth does not exceed 10 meters except Svitiaz 58,4 m. There is amazing emerald-green color of water. It is incredibly beautiful place. Wild ducks, geese and swans made their nests on the shores. In some places the shores are overgrown with reeds and sedges. Somewhere you can see the duckweed and water lilies. No wonder that for many centuries these places attract artists and tourists.  

Bottom is covered with sand and silt, peat and sapropel muds, which favorably affect the human skin. People had noticed that the lake water has healing properties. Wounds washed with this water heal quickly, thanks to its composition that consists of silver and glycerol. Skin becomes elastic after such bathes. Many years ago the water from Lake Svitiaz was taken to Warsaw, so polish pretty ladies could take natural cosmetic bathes.

You should definitely visit this place. Once you visit this place you`ll dream about the next meeting with this pearl of nature the sea that is hidden in Volyn region. It`s a pity that our Ukrainian lakes aren`t as popular as the sea and mountains. But perhaps, may be it`s time to break stereotypes?
